Personal Relationship Coaching… enhance and enrich your relationship as you plan your wedding day

I truly believe in marriage.

I have watched couples as the bride focuses her energy on planning the wedding right after the proposal. It is something she has dreamed about and you know how much that matters to me- after all I am passionate about wedding planning and helping brides. I noticed that the guys go along, with some saying out loud that they will be glad when all of this is over and things can go back to normal. So I started thinking about just what is normal for a relationship while planning the biggest event of your lives? As their wedding consultant I am aware that I contribute to adding to the energy of focusing on that one day by the sheer fact of being a wedding planner. I became aware that what I wanted for them was not only a stress free, happy wedding day, but a wonderful lasting marriage.  So I started educating myself on what makes a marriage successful and happy. I develop a close relationship with each of the  couples as we plan the wedding day and  it does matter to me about their future life together. I want them to have it all. The purpose of the wedding is to become husband and wife. The celebration at the reception is all about celebrating your marriage and the vows that you say to each other.

My philosophy is that you can learn and grow from marriage in ways that you would never venture into alone as an individual. It challenges you in every way and you end up being closer to your spouse than any relationship you have in your life. In being a wedding consultant, along with various aspects that comprise planning a wedding, it became apparent to me that couples need support and help from the time they become a couple. We all carry around our past and most times we do not let the past leave our lives. You and your fiance  come from different backgrounds and families. You have had different experiences and you view things in different ways. The differences are great in that they encourage you to see things another way. The first years of marriage is also difficult as you navigate these differences trying to figure out who is right and who is wrong. This creates a power struggle. I know that it is hard to imagine that anything could change the way you feel right now but is does happen everyday- it where over half of all divorces occur. That is what made me start seeing how I could actually help couples stay married and live in harmony while having the freedom to to be themselves.

I completed a four year program and took every class offered that had to do with marriage. I started a marriage prep program at my church from the ground up. I have added a marriage enrichment program for newlyweds through 6 years of marriage. I still did not feel that I knew enough so I enrolled in the Relationship Coaching Institute and I am now a certified master relationship coach through the Relationship Coaching Institute. I am constantly taking courses and attending seminars to add to my knowledge. I want to make a difference and help couples that have just gotten married. It is such a transition to go from being a bride to changing your name, combining households, feeling a loss of independence and having a whole other family to share in your life…each with a different opinion and way of believing things should be done.

I know that I can help make a difference. My reason for doing this is that your relationship matters to me and I will be the outside support system that wants your marriage to be fantastic and succeed. I do not want people to feel that they only have a 50/50 chance to make it. There is a safe place to turn to. Even if there is just one area that you need just a bit of help with. It’s amazing how different the couples feel after taking the class. They feel closer than ever and able to accept each other with understanding.
